Window treatments in Forsyth, GA
Forsyth is building: new houses on open lots, a gated golf community on the river and a High Victorian courthouse at the middle of it all. We travel here for larger projects, about an hour and a quarter from our Peachtree City workshop.

The homes here
New houses on big lots, and a High Victorian square
About a quarter of Forsyth's homes are this century's, and close to one in ten went up since 2020, some of them on acre lots. From Juliette Crossing, a few minutes off I-75, to the horse properties at Riata, a lot of houses here are new enough to still be waiting for their first real window treatments.
River Forest is the high end: a gated golf community of about 1,700 acres with custom homes, some along the river, and the high ceilings and big rear glass that come with them. Rooms like that need shades that reach the top of the window, and motorization stops being a luxury once that top is out of reach.
Then there is the Forsyth around Courthouse Square: the 1896 High Victorian courthouse, the old Tift College campus, and older houses on streets like South Lee, where Hil'ardin dates to the 1830s. Houses of that age are where a stained wood shutter or a simple fabric shade looks most at home.

On an open lot the sun has nothing in its way, so the rooms facing south and west take the full afternoon. Treat those first; the rest of the house can follow when you are ready.

What suits these homes
What suits Forsyth homes
- Motorized shades
- For River Forest's high ceilings and big rear glass. On a schedule, they handle the afternoon sun without anyone fetching a ladder or a remote.
- Cellular shades
- For new houses on open lots, where the sun has nothing in its way. The honeycomb insulates the glass and keeps the sunny side of the house from running hot.
- Faux wood blinds
- The sensible whole-house choice for a new build. Durable, moisture-proof and cordless, in one color across every room.
- Stained wood shutters
- For the older houses near the square and the custom homes at River Forest. Real wood, in a stain chosen against your own trim.
